Ooooooo look! A second blog post!!!
So, I want to chat about something super important: capturing those special moments with just mom and dad during our family photo sessions. Why? Because, let's face it, mom and dad are, like, the CEOs?, MVPs?, the foundation of the family, and they deserve a spotlight all to themselves! I bet the last time you had photos together was at your wedding. Am I right? I had a lot of my clients tell me that. That's why I make sure we throw a few of those in the final photo gallery.
Let's Celebrate Mom and Dad:
Sure, family photos are all about capturing the chaos and craziness of life with kiddos, but let's not forget about the dynamic duo who started it all – mom and dad! They're the ones who fell in love, embarked on this wild parenting adventure, and still manage to keep the spark alive amidst the chaos of raising kids. So, why not take a moment to celebrate your love and commitment? And you know who else is going to want these photos? One day your kids will. I love looking back at photos of my parents. I’ll share a few of the favourites that I have of my parents. (I took the newer ones, my papa took the older ones)
Setting an Example:
Kids learn by example, and what better way to teach them about love and commitment than by showing them firsthand? When children see their parents laughing, hugging, and goofing off together, it sets a powerful example of what a healthy relationship looks like. Plus, it gives them something to aspire to when they're all grown up and starting families of their own.
So, Let’s Do This!
In the whirlwind of parenthood, it's all too easy for moms and dads to put themselves last – to prioritise their children's needs above their own and to forget the importance of nurturing their own relationship. That's why I believe it's essential to carve out moments during a family photo session to focus solely on mom and dad.
